Meditation

Meditation can be defined as a practice where an individual focuses his or her mind on a particular object, thought or activity to achieve a mentally clear and emotionally calm state.

The term Guided Meditation is often applied to any soothing breathing exercise with a narrator. Definitions vary but essentially if the narrator is providing instruction on how to relax, focus on breathing, and to clear the mind then this is traditional guided meditation to teach meditation.

If the narrator is providing 'suggestions' or describing visualizations, 'suggestion' the eye lids are too heavy to open are hypnotic induction so depending on emphasis this could be more like self-hypnosis, hypnotherapy, or a general relaxation technique.
